Magewappa bento is a traditional craft made in various parts of Japan, and is made by bending thin wooden boards such as cedar or cypress.
It’s a wooden box.
The “Magewappa” bento box, created using traditional Japanese crafts, has a rustic design that allows you to feel the warmth of the wood.
Due to its charm and efficacy, it has recently started to attract attention through word of mouth.
There are three types of magewappa: plain wood, lacquer, and urethane, each with its own characteristics.
Plain wood (unpainted):
Because nothing is painted on it, you can enjoy the pleasant aroma and beautiful grain of cedar and cypress as they are. However, care must be taken to prevent mold from forming.
Urushinuri lacquered coating:
This is a type of magewappa with Urushinuri lacquered coating. Urushinuri lacquer is highly durable and can be used for decades.
Urethane coating:
Urethane coating is a resin coating on the surface of wood. It looks almost the same as plain wood (unpainted) magewappa, but it is easier to handle. It’s more affordable than the other two.

Instruction for use
<Plain wood (unpainted)>
Do not use in the microwave, dishwasher, or dryer. Avoid storing in the refrigerator. Wash with detergent, wipe with a dry towel after washing, and dry in a well-ventilated place.
